The horror/sci-fi hit starring Jeff Goldblum and directed by David Cronenberg: Scientist Seth Brundle is working on a piece of technology that will make teleportation possible. When he uses himself as a test subject for the device, he accidentally splices his DNA with a common Housefly, leading to disastrous consequences, much to the horror of his new girlfriend.

A gross-your-eyes-out horror movie that is also the year’s most poignant romance.
