New This Week: On Swift Horses and The Legend of Ochi.

Tuesday April 16 @ 6pm

Part of the April series The Aesthetics of Barbie, hosted by the Cinema Society of Kingston.

John Travolta ignites the screen as Tony Manero, a Brooklyn teenager with dreams as big as his disco dance moves. Set against the pulsating backdrop of New York City’s nightlife scene, “Saturday Night Fever” follows Tony as he navigates the challenges of family, friendship, and romance while chasing his passion for dancing. With its iconic soundtrack from the Bee Gees and electrifying performances, this classic film captures the spirit of an era and the resilience of the human spirit.

Trivia: John Travolta’s iconic white suit worn in the film was later sold at auction for a whopping $145,000, cementing its status as one of the most memorable costumes in cinema history.
