Since 2003, Home Movie Day has been an annual celebration of home movies and amateur films held at many venues worldwide. This year, the Kingston Film Heritage Project in partnership with the Vulnerable Media Lab and The Cinema Society of Kingston is presenting a screening of YOUR home movies on Home Movie Day (October 19th 2024).
Have a home movie that you would like to submit? This year’s theme is TRANSIENCE. If you have a home movie that fits this year’s theme then please submit a short application telling us why. Please tell us about your home movie and submit it for consideration for our Home Movie Day screening by either filling out our submission form (link) or by emailing the details listed below to 22ac18@queensu.ca:
- A description of your home movie (let us know what is in your home movie; i.e. where does it take place, what happens, who or what is featured in it, etc.)
- How your home movie fits our theme
- The runtime of your home movie OR of a selected excerpt (please provide timecode) – max. 10 min.
- The format (Super 8, 16mm, MiniDV, etc.) Are there formats we will not be accepting, such as digital?
- The year your home movie was made (if unknown, please provide an estimate)
